See below for more info on the show. We’re already here and getting ready to rumble…
I found the time to upload some pics before we got into soundcheck. This show already feels magical. Kids in the hallway are proving that the buzz is around. It’s nice to know that Heiruspecs is still remembered around the way… Cant wait to play. Hurry up and get here! – Felix
Heiruspecs are no stranger to The Whole Music club. Heiruspecs has been back in the studio crafting what is shaping up to be the most personal, honest and though-out record of their career. The currently untitled full-length is slated for a September release.
Black Blondie are four friends bounded by a common love for creating music. Coming from diverse artistic backgrounds, they have created a musical experience that is uniquely their own. Soul, hip-hop, funk, jazz, they pull influences from everywhere.
Picked by the readers of the City Pages as one of the “Best New Bands” of 2007, MC/VL has had a great response after the releases of the “Jaws” EP and “Stance” LP

Thanks to all you guys that came out. A big thank you to the ClubFR people who came out including half of Grip Gamblers (http://www.gripgambler.com/blog/). We always love coming down to Chicago because we have so many friends and family members there.
Usually I try to take a lot of photo’s at our shows and I am finding that I need a new camera… here’s what I got.
This is Treologic – They have opened for us before but this was def. their strongest showing we’ve ever seen. They keep getting better and better.
Next up was Rubblebucket Orchestra. They’re an east coast based band that just has to be heard to be believed. I am listening to their album as I type this. Amazing!
Awwww…. we love you guys too!
Ahh, the Waterfront. Me No Money.
After eating crab and shrimp before a rap show, the drinking begins… and it doesn’t end. Why not have a Heiruspecs show?
See you guys next time. This time less booze… No one should have to challenge a rappers “rapness”. EVER. Hit us up and send us your pictures!!!!
Between Luther and Fargo, Twinkie, Muad’dib and I stopped by the 331 club and had some fancy drinks. Bloody Mary’s for them, and a Mamosa for me.
Then back on the road. (Drink responsibly and know your limits)
Vintage style posters…
Vintage style cash box…
We’ve been around this block before so we already knew it’d be fun. Jade brought us up again and low and behold, it was a rap show.
These guys didn’t even bother to stick around for the whole show so I don’t mind talking a little shit here. I can’t believe rappers are still singing along to their album tracks! Please stop lip syncing!
Still, I’m grateful and appreciative of the energy and it sounds like your mixtape is probably going to bang. Just get your show right.
and after Big Quarters…
^^^^I know, I know, I know….. blurry again^^^^
Oh, and by the way, we have all this stuff at EVERY SHOW. Sometimes more! Right now the 10 years strong hoodies are just 20 dollars if you pick one up at a show. (I’ll be working on the online ordering part of this stuff soon)
Meeting new people is half the fun. Friends of friends become just friends.
I didn’t forget your picture!
Oh snap! Is that a new TMF Opposition shirt?
A big special thanks has to go to Rob, who was the soundman for the nights show. He made Peter’s kick drum sound magical. Rick Ruben would have applauded. Rob is part of a band which can be found here –> http://www.myspace.com/battlefieldsdoom
No swearing until after the show. Then LOTS of swearing… and other stuff too!
^^^For this show, we did a very similar set to our CD release party, so here’s one of the original set lists from that show. Actually, this is the lighting sheet. So you can see what colors we imagined having in lights for different parts of the set. ^^^^
^^^My typically blurry photo skills…^^^^
The show was fun as hell. I’m glad so many people came out. There were a few Central grads there and a TON of Twin Cities folk.
If you are a Luther College administrator, just pretend this is all happening at Grinnell;
Most of my after party pics are crap because it was so foggy but as you can see we met some new people and had a great time before fading away into the mist. Thanks so much LUTHER!
It was a friday night, the sun had gone down and there we were in Uptown. As this is another local show, we had a lot of friends there. We haven’t been playing any indoor shows in town this summer so this was a fun change of pace for us.
Aaaaannnnnnnnnddddddddd, on to the pictures;
Yes, yes, yes, this pic is a blurry one. But it does show that Lucy Michelle was there and doing her thin opening for us. Later on in the night, she came up and joined us on the chorus’s for Let it Fly and It Takes. She was great!
Here’s a video clip of her doing her thing;
and this is DVRG’s newest toy^^^^^^^ (so many strange buttons and knobs)
I want to go on record and say that I feel bad that ALL of the pics I take of Peter are from this same angle. I have to use a flash and don’t want to blind him like I blind the rest of us. He has so much going on….
YES! It was a good time. See all you guys next time!
So if you saw this = http://heiruspecs.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/heiruspecs-last-of-the-record-buyers/
Then you knew that we were doing the Last of the Record Buyers thing presented by Brandon All Day of Big Quarters.
We got a chance to hear a ton of dope beats by some of the Twin Cities up and coming hip hop producers and then show how we go about making beats for Heiruspecs material. We brought out a bunch of shitty recordings of rough drafts and rehearsal tapes. We then played a bit and eventually tried to make something from scratch. Here’s a couple of pics I snapped while on stage.
